My name is Lisa and I am a Yoga Teacher, Reiki Master, Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor, freelance writer and spiritual enthusiast who is currently living my dream.
Back in 1994, I was what you would call a "gym rat". I was at the gym 6 days per week at 6 a.m. I rode my bike or roller bladed to and from the gym and I loved it. I could not get enough. Then suddenly my body started protesting and sciatica kicked me in the butt. I ended up on my back for approximately 8 days in agony and feeling really sorry for myself. I was devasted. Yet, sciatica ended up being a blessing in disguise. It gave me some time to reassess my regime and my motivations. It lead me to YOGA.
Yoga has allowed me to really connect deeply with my body and understand that being fit and healthy doesn't necessarily mean that my BMI needs to be 15 or less. It actually shouldn't be 15!! Yoga has helped me to overcome so many obstacles in my life....particulary ME. It has allowed me to provide myself a place of compassion and acceptance. I has taught me to be gentle with myself and in turn be gentle with others.
I have a number of fitness certifications, yet the one that I value the most is my Yoga Teacher designation. Currently, I teach approximately 20 fitness / yoga classes per week and see clients regulary for Reiki and Angel Card readings.
I love my life and I love that I am allowed to help others on their journey to wellness.
